My name is Talia and I am in the 5th year of my PhD in Biology at Stanford University. Although half of my family is Israeli, I did not learn Hebrew until I started teaching it to myself six years ago. Practicing Hebrew with family was essential to my language learning process. A family friend suggested I volunteer for SET, and now I am doing a language exchange with an Israeli once a week. Learning about his daily life, his travels, and his favorite music has been so much fun!
